VOYAGER TAKES OFF!

It has been just over six months since we opened the doors at The Cairn Distillery, the first to be built in the Cairngorms National Park in more than a century.  Over this time, we've welcomed our first guests and started production on our single malt whiskies that will be released in the years to come.

As Visitor Experience Manager, I can say that each day at the distillery brings new challenges but also an immense sense of pride and satisfaction - not many people can go to work and see such magnificent views from their office window!

At The Cairn we are pleased to offer a selection of immersive experiences, each culminating in a whisky tasting in the spectacular Discovery Room.  This is a unique space, as not only does it provide a stunning backdrop for visitors, but it allows us to give you a taste of the future today: blended malt whiskies created to give you a sense of the character of single malts that will have been distilled here.

THE VOYAGER EXPERIENCE

Our VIP tour is The Voyager Experience.  Pushing the boundaries of exploration, Voyagers undertake a full, far-reaching whisky expedition rounded off by a very special tasting experience.

Voyagers have their own dedicated Experience Host to take them around the production facilities, with extra time to ask questions and meet members of our distillery team.  This is followed by an exploration into the art of maturation to learn about The Cairn's approach and the cask types involved.

With a panoramic view of the Cairngorms to enjoy in the Discovery Room, Voyagers are then presented with all six drams from the CRN57 blended scotch whisky range.  Starting with the core range of 12, 18, 25 and 30 year old blended malts, visitors will enjoy a wide range of flavours, from forest fruits and chocolate, to hints of pepper and oak as we move up the ages.  Voyagers then have the opportunity to taste our delectable 57 year old whisky, before moving onto our exceptional 70 year old - the oldest blended Scotch in the world!

Following the tour and tasting, the team at The Gathering will prepare and serve an unforgettable selection of Scottish tapas, featuring locally sourced produce of the highest quality.  A real feast for all the senses!
